At Murray Park School, our Personal, Social, Health, and Economic (PSHE) Education curriculum is designed to equip students with the knowledge, skills, and values they need to thrive in modern society. Through engaging and age-appropriate lessons, we support students in developing their character, making informed decisions, and preparing for life beyond the classroom.
The Citizenship curriculum provides students with the knowledge, skills and understanding to prepare to play a full and active part in society. Citizenship education fosters the students’ awareness and understanding of democracy, government and how laws are made and upheld and also includes finance education.
Relationships, Sex and Health Education (RSHE) is taught throughout key stages 3 and 4. The students learn how to stay safe and healthy and how to manage their academic and social lives in a positive way. Teaching about mental wellbeing is central to these subjects.
Our PSHE programme includes:
- Citizenship – Encouraging active participation in society by exploring democracy, human rights, and responsibilities.
- RSHE (Relationships, Sex & Health Education) – Promoting healthy relationships, emotional wellbeing, and personal safety, both online and offline.
- Employability – Preparing students for the world of work through career guidance, workplace skills, and goal setting.
- Finance – Developing financial literacy, including budgeting, saving, and understanding economic responsibilities.
