Mission Statement

At Murray Park School, we recognise and value the worth of every pupil. We believe that every young person can learn, grow, and go on to make a positive contribution to society. We celebrate our students’ diverse backgrounds and believe that every individual can achieve success in their own unique way.

Our rewards system is a key part of our PRIDE curriculum, which supports students’ personal development and character education. We actively promote our core values of Perseverance, Respect, Independence, Dreams, and Excellence in everything we do. All reward points are linked to these values and are designed to motivate students to become the best versions of themselves.

Aims of the Rewards System

Our rewards policy has been developed to:

Raise aspirations and promote a positive attitude towards school life and beyond
Create a happy, motivating learning environment for all students and staff
Recognise and celebrate achievement consistently and fairly
Support students in developing the attitudes and behaviours needed for adult life
Reinforce positive behaviour and respectful relationships as part of our Personal Development curriculum
Promote consistency across the school in how students are praised and rewarded
Foster a whole-school culture of success and achievement that is accessible to all
Clearly outline how students will be praised, rewarded, and celebrated
Help students meet behaviour expectations in a positive and encouraging way
Drive improved outcomes for every pupil
Ensure staff, students, and parents understand their roles in maintaining a positive school culture

Consistency and Staff Training

To ensure fairness and effectiveness, all staff are trained in how to apply the Go4Schools reward system. We regularly monitor the data to celebrate success, identify students who may need extra encouragement, and ensure consistency across the school.

How Students Are Recognised

We believe that praise should be regular, meaningful, and accessible to all students. Pupils are rewarded in both formal and informal ways, including:

Formal recognition:

Charter for Success awards
Celebration in tutor time and assemblies
Certificates and reward postcards
Displays of work and recognition in the school newsletter and press
Public recognition at rewards ceremonies and events
Invitations to exclusive trips and activities

Informal recognition:

Verbal praise in and outside of lessons
Positive feedback on work
Phone calls, messages and postcards home
Recognition via the Murray Park App

The GO4SCHOOLS Points System

All pupils earn PRIDE points throughout the year, awarded by staff in line with our PRIDE values. These points are tracked via the Go4Schools platform and are visible to students and parents to help celebrate progress and success.

We operate a checkpoint system to make our rewards inclusive and achievable for all. When pupils reach a checkpoint, they receive a small prize, such as confectionery or stationery, to celebrate their efforts. These checkpoints are designed to keep motivation high and acknowledge consistent positive contributions across the year.

The Gold Reward Prize Draw

Pupils who achieve 500 points or more are automatically entered into our Gold Reward Prize Draw, which takes place during the end-of-year celebration assembly. For every additional 100 points over 500, students receive an extra entry into the draw—giving them more chances to win. This adds an exciting element of anticipation and encourages pupils to continue striving for success right up to the end of the academic year.

Go4Schools points unlock a wide variety of reward opportunities, including:

Letters and postcards home
Recognition in assemblies, newsletters, displays and tutor time
Small prizes such as stationery, sweets, and chocolates
Invitations to half-termly Headteacher’s Celebration Assemblies
Entry into the end-of-year Gold Prize Draw
Free or discounted cinema trips
Pizza parties and film afternoons
Gift vouchers and exclusive experiences
Participation in community competitions
Invitations to the Annual Rewards Ceremony
Eligibility for reward trips

Additional reward activities may be offered throughout the year.

Celebration Evening

This is an annual opportunity to invite pupils to a celebration of their achievements at a formal awards ceremony attended by pupils, parents, staff and members of the governing body. Pupils are invited to attend the ceremony in recognition of their achievements and to be publicly awarded. Nominations are made by subject leaders and Heads of Year which celebrate outstanding achievement in a number of areas. The rewards include public recognition at a formal ceremony, certificates, prizes and trophies.
